Sanjay Rajpal has been working in the investment management industry for 27 years, focusing on systematic strategies. He is currently Head of Quantitative Strategies Central Research at Millennium Management.
Prior to Millennium, he was a Portfolio Manager running global quantitative strategies at hedge funds ExodusPoint Capital, Cubist Systematic Strategies, and Magnetar Capital. Prior to that, he worked at Deutsche Bank in proprietary trading and was a Managing Director and Head of the Cross Markets Arbitrage group. Prior to Deutsche, he worked at Parametric Capital Management, a multi-strategy hedge fund where he helped build the firm's statistical arbitrage business and served as Director of Research. Prior to Parametric, he worked as a Quantitative Analyst at CastleNet and as a Research Associate at Bridgewater Associates.
Sanjay volunteers at a number of nonprofit institutions. He has been serving for almost nine years on the Board of Trustees at the Hoff-Barthelson Music School in Scarsdale, NY. He also serves on the Advisory Board for PrakashDeep, an NGO in India that runs free schools for economically underprivileged children in the community.
Sanjay's academic background includes dual Masters degrees in Mathematics and Computer Science from Birla Institute of Technology & Science, Pilani (India) and a PhD in Mathematics from Dartmouth.
