Mason Hawkins is the founder, Chairman and CEO of Southeastern Asset Management, Inc., an independent global investment management firm employing a proven partnership approach to investing that includes collaborative engagement with the managements of undervalued public companies. 

Southeastern manages over $20 billion as the investment advisor to the Longleaf Partners family of mutual and UCITS funds and to separately managed institutional accounts.  Founded in 1975, Southeastern Asset Management has been successful throughout the last 40 years by making long-term investments in a concentrated number of competitively advantaged, strong businesses managed by good people and trading at deeply discounted prices relative to intrinsic value. 

Mr. Hawkins is a recognized leader in investment industry and has been the recipient of various industry awards throughout his career. He received Institutional Investor’s Lifetime Achievement Award in 2005.  Morningstar named him and Co-Portfolio Manager, Staley Cates, Domestic Equity Fund Manager of the Year in 2006.  In 2007, Foundation & Endowment Money Management awarded him their Equity Manager of the Year award.
